Love is the defining factor and characteristic that set us as Christian; lovers of Jesus Christ apart from the rest of the world. If we do not love each other First John simply puts it; we are not of God. Love is the compulsion that drives us. Love from God given by the Holy Spirit for God and for our brothers and sisters in Christ. Without it we are fruitless and ineffective in our love for the world and for God. Pastor Allen outlines what real Christian love looks like when it is fleshed out in everyday life.

John was known as the disciple that Jesus loved. And from that premise John was inspired by the Holy Spirit to write the letters of first, second and third John. First John 4 deals with everything from heresy to loving your brother and loving God with your whole heart.
