Darkness cannot tolerate the light. Light will always dispel the darkness. Light invades the night and brings life and hope to any dim situation or circumstance. When God wanted to change any situation He always brought light into the picture and it was typically through a person. In the beginning God created light. When Jesus was born there was the star. God Himself is light. Pastor Allen vividly illustrates these truths by using several people’s testimonies and props to drive the point home. Traditions are nothing more than customs or beliefs. We all have traditions in our lives some are old and have lost their meaning and others are new and are alive with significance and hope. Either way they are still traditions. The traditions that we celebrate at Christmas maybe old however they should never lose their meaning. We must remember to pass the baton to the next generation or we will fade into the shadows of an archaic religion. Pastor Allen illustrates this point by talking about the different traditions of Christmas like the poinsettia, the advent candle, Christmas cards, wreaths and more. |
