Traditions are nothing more than customs or beliefs. We all have traditions in our lives some are old and have lost their meaning and others are new and are alive with significance and hope. Either way they are still traditions. The traditions that we celebrate at Christmas maybe old however they should never lose their meaning. We must remember to pass the baton to the next generation or we will fade into the shadows of an archaic religion. Pastor Allen illustrates this point by talking about the different traditions of Christmas like the poinsettia, the advent candle, Christmas cards, wreaths and more. Salvation, Provision, Forgiveness, Restorer, Healer, Good Shepherd, these are names and attributes of Jesus Christ but He is more than just a Name. A babe wrapped in swaddling clothes lying in a manger, the epitome of humility that has become iconic over the past two thousand years. But He is also more than just a child. Jesus is much more than the sum of all His parts. He is truly the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. The alpha and omega, the first and last. Listen as Pastor Richard Hinojosa teaches that Jesus is much more than a child and more than a name. |
