Fear is a great tool of the enemy. And he has kept many a Christian in a constant state of being paralyzed immobilizing them and thus they don’t live and move in all that God has provided and ordained for them. The Israelites were a people who were dismayed and frightened many times in their long history but however the Church of today can learn a valuable lesson from them. God proved Himself faithful over and over to Israel and time a time again they would doubt and become dismayed and turn to foreign gods. The lesson learned is that God is always faithful and thus we have no reason to fear and be dismayed. For even when we are faithless He remains faithful. To remember those who have gone before is more than simply talking about their sacrifice and all they gave up to ensure that we have freedom. But it is to live a life that is worthy of their sacrifice. It is to earn all that they died for us to have. It is to live a life worthy of the calling that we have received from God Himself, a life that brings honor to His and their name. May we honor those who fought and laid down their life to guarantee that we could be all that we should be. |
